Your Assignment

Final essay is due by midnight on Sunday, May 1.

Requirements: 

  • Must use a minimum of two secondary sources
  • One of the above sources must be from a scholarly journal

Choose one of the following topics 

  1. Explicate, in terms of theme, any poem or short story studied in class.
  2. Trace the concept of 'carpe diem' though at least two poems.
  3. Explain how the point of view of a work studied in class relates to the interpretation of that work.
  4. Compare and/or contrast Anne Sexton's poem The Starry Night with Don McLean's song Vincent.
