The Madigan Library subscribes to periodicals in both print and electronic format to support the curricula of the programs offered at Penn College. Approximately 1090 current print subscriptions are located on the Main Campus in Williamsport and Earth Science Campus in Allenwood. Full text articles from thousands of online journals are available to our students, faculty, and staff anywhere in the world. The majority of our print periodicals are located on the main campus. Magazines, journals, and newspapers do not leave the library. Black/white and color photocopiers and a scanner are provided for copying articles.
Tips on Using Our Periodicals
Open stacks are available for browsing. Lift the shelving unit for earlier issues in the current year. As a rule, on the Main Campus, periodicals are located in one of three areas; current issue shelving area on the first floor contains this year's periodicals. Back issues that are bound or on microfilm are located on the second floor. A guide to using microfilm can be found in the microfilm area. Microfilm for the previous year may not arrive until March or April. Until then, paper copies are kept in the back issues area on the second floor.
Exceptions: During July of each year, the January through June issues of the weeklies, dailies, and biweekly's are shelved in the Back Issues area on the second floor.
