Forensic Sciences: Forensic Engineering

The National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE®) is a professional organization formed in 1982 to advance the art and skill of engineers who serve as engineering consultants to members of the legal profession and as expert witnesses in courts of law, arbitration proceedings and administrative adjudication proceedings.

Reports on causes of failures, lessons learned and used, to prevent re-occurrence; monitors and reports on the engineering investigations of structural failures; reports and proposes improvements of practice based on the lessons learned from failures; publicizes methods of engineers' emergency response; publicizes techniques of field and analytical evaluations of failures; informs of effective dispute resolution procedures; promotes ethical standards and practices in the investigation process, resolution and judgment of cases of structural failures.
