Search Google Scholar

Google Scholar searches only for Scholarly and Peer Reviewed articles many of which are free.  If the article is not available on the web:

  • Click on Get It @ Madigan Library (only from computers on campus)
  • Advance Search (under down arrow) will find keywords in titles of articles
  • Check Journal Locator to see if the journal title is in the Library or online in a database
  • Request Interlibrary Loan for materials not in the Madigan Library and not on the web

When you select an article, look for a "cite" icon and choose MLA (your course-specified citation style) to cite your source.

  • Remember you can request Interlibrary Loan if your article is not full text or if you can't find it in another database through Journal Locator.
  • Getting too many hits in ProQuest? 
    Select the advanced search option to focus and limit your topic. Also select the sort by relevance option to get the most relevant hits.
