Evaluation Argument Essay

Your paper must be:

  • Typed, 12 point Times New Roman Font, double-spaced, three to four pages, MLA format
  • You must include four sources in the Works Cited page. You also need to cite these sources internally.

Prompt: Write a three to four-page evaluation of First Knight (which we will watch together in class). You will then need to locate three reviews of the movie/film. Since you need four sources, one of them is the movie, the other three are the reviews. You need to select at least three criteria to use to argue whether the movie is good or bad, based on your experiences in watching the movie and the reviews that you have located.  Consider the brainstorming completed in class as you organize your notes for this paper.

Steps:

  1. Brainstorm possible movies/films
  2. Brainstorm what makes a movie/film good or bad.
  3. Through research, locate at least three critic movie reviews of First Knight. Use Roger Ebert, Rotten Tomatoes, and IMDB websites to locate your reviews.
  4. Select your three criteria and take notes from the reviews, using whichever method is best for your learning style.  Be sure to use quotation marks around exact quotes from the text. Also be sure to write down page numbers.
  5. Organize your notes according to your learning style (formal outline, working outline, ect.)
  6. Write a rough draft for your paper.
  7. after the peer review, edit and revise your paper.
