The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation (formerly NARSAD, the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression) is committed to alleviating the suffering of mental illness by awarding grants that will lead to advances and breakthroughs in scientific research.

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) is the leading patient-directed national organization focusing on the most prevalent mental illnesses. The organization fosters an environment of understanding about the impact and management of these life-threatening illnesses by providing up-to-date, scientifically based tools and information written in language the general public can understand. DBSA supports research to promote more timely diagnosis, develop more effective and tolerable treatments, and discover a cure. The organization works to ensure that people living with mood disorders are treated equitably. DBSA was founded in 1985.

Families for Depression Awareness helps families recognize and cope with depression and bipolar disorder to get people well and prevent suicides.
We offer education, training, and support to unite families and help them heal while coping with mood disorders.

ISBD is a global network of individuals dedicated to finding ways to improve the lives of those with bipolar disorder through collaboration, research, and education. In addition to individual members, the ISBD has a global chapter network of like minded organizations formed to meet the unique challenges of treating bipolar disorder in their country/region.
