Emphasizing experimental and descriptive research, the Journal of Research in Personality presents articles that examine important issues in the field of personality and in related fields basic to the understanding of personality. The subject matter includes treatments of genetic, physiological, motivational, learning, perceptual, cognitive, and social processes of both normal and abnormal kinds in human and animal subjects.

The Journal of Social and Personal Relationships is an international, interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that publishes the highest quality original research on social and personal relationships. The Journal of Social and Personal Relationships is affiliated with the International Association for Relationship Research.

Personality and Individual Differences is devoted to the publication of articles (experimental, theoretical, review) which aim to integrate as far as possible the major factors of personality with empirical paradigms from experimental, physiological, animal, clinical, educational, criminological or industrial psychology or to seek an explanation for the causes and major determinants of individual differences in concepts derived from these disciplines. The editors are concerned with both genetic and environmental causes, and they are particularly interested in possible interaction effects. Ultimately they believe that human beings are bio-social organisms and that work on individual differences can be most fruitfully pursued by paying attention to both these aspects of our nature. They believe that advances are more likely to be made by the use of the hypothetical-deductive method, though empirical data based on sound research and providing interesting new findings, would of course not be rejected simply because they might not have a good theoretical underpinning. All in all, the traditional type of work on traits, abilities, attitudes, types and other latent structures underlying consistencies in behavior has in recent years been receiving rather short shrift in traditional journals of personality; Personality and Individual Differences aims to reinstate it to its proper place in psychology, equal in importance with general experimental work, and interacting with it to make up a unitary science of psychology.

Personality and Mental Health: Multidisciplinary Studies from Personality Dysfunction to Criminal Behaviour aims to lead and shape the international field in this rapidly expanding area, uniting three distinct literatures: DSM-IV/ICD-10 defined personality disorders, psychopathy and offending behaviour.

Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin offers an international forum for the rapid dissemination of original empirical papers in all areas of personality and social psychology.

Personality and Social Psychology Review is the premiere outlet for original theoretical papers and conceptual review articles in all areas of personality and social psychology. Personal Relationships is an international, interdisciplinary journal that promotes scholarship in the field of personal relationships using a wide variety of methodologies and throughout a broad range of disciplines, including psychology, sociology, communication studies, anthropology, family studies, child development, social work, and gerontology. Manuscripts examining a wide range of personal relationships, including those between romantic or intimate partners, spouses, parents and children, siblings, classmates, coworkers, neighbors, and friends are welcome. Typically published work focuses on attributes of individual partners in personal relationships (e.g., personality factors or social positions as influences on relationship outcomes) at all stages of the life course, interactive relationship processes (i.e., behavioral, affective, or cognitive), the internal structure of dyads and networks, and relationships in social contexts (e.g., families, workplaces, historical periods, cultures).

Unique in its range, Social and Personality Psychology Compass is an online-only journal publishing original, peer-reviewed surveys of current research and theory from across the entire discipline. Authors are encouraged to present their unique vision of the research topic that they review and controversy is not discouraged. Social and Personality Psychology Compass fosters close cooperation across sub-divisions of the field insuring that boundaries remain permeable. SPPS is a unique short reports journal in social and personality psychology. Its aim is to publish cutting-edge, short reports of single studies, or very succinct reports of multiple studies, and will be geared toward a speedy review and publication process to allow groundbreaking research to be quickly available to the field. Articles should not exceed 5,000 words (excluding references) and may present new theory, new data, new methods, or any combination of these.
