Once faculty are clear about how today’s student learning outcomes differ from “old school
objectives”, the real and continuing challenge is to find ways to get faculty engaged in aligning
courses with the intended SLOs. The MAPPING Primer 2e: Tools for Reconstructing the College
Curriculum (2012) is designed to do just that.

Practical Assessment, Research & Evaluation (PARE) is an on-line journal supported entirely by volunteer efforts. Its purpose is to provide access to refereed articles that can have a positive impact on assessment, research, evaluation, and teaching practice. Manuscripts published in Practical Assessment, Research & Evaluation are scholarly syntheses of research and ideas about methodological issues and practices. They are designed to help members of the community keep up-to-date with effective methods, trends, and research developments from a variety of settings.

Research in Higher Education publishes empirical studies that enhance our understanding of an educational institution or allow comparison among institutions.
