Fri., Oct. 25: Annotated bibliography with at least 4 sources

Mon., Nov. 18: Research paper full draft due

Sun., Dec. 8: Final paper and E-portfolio

►5-7 page paper on "Liminality" topic of your choice
►Format must be 12 point font, double spaced
►Must include 6 cited sources with at least 2 being peer-reviewed

Library Research Tasks

  1. Define your topic that is connected to "liminality."
  2. Narrow key terms for searching
  3. Develop research questions with a main thesis
  4. Find library resources to support your ideas
  5. Save and Cite your sources in APA format

CHECKLIST

The following checklist is from your ENL 111 instructor with highlighted library tasks that feed into your completed project:

  • Select general topic

  • Develop arguable questions connected to that topic

  • Sift through research questions to select or create one main driving question

  • Establish your initial response to the driving question

  • Research other responses to the question from valid primary and/or secondary resources

  • Take thorough notes and summarize the thoughts of others

  • Re-evaluate your own initial response, based on your research, and refine your response to the research question; this response will be the thesis statement of your essay

  • Outline and draft your essay, incorporating your research informed thesis and quotes from select resources

  • Revise and edit your essay

  • Present complete essay with drafts, final version, etc. in a website portfolio
