Pregnancy Mortality Surveillance System
Defines a pregnancy-related death as a death while pregnant or within 1 year of the end of pregnancy from any cause related to or aggravated by the pregnancy. Medical epidemiologists review and analyze death records, linked birth records and fetal death records if applicable, and additional available data from all 50 states, New York City, and Washington, DC. PMSS is used to calculate the pregnancy-related mortality ratio, an estimate of the number of pregnancy-related deaths for every 100,000 live births.

Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) Data Portal
Collects jurisdiction-specific, population-based data on maternal attitudes and experiences before, during, and shortly after pregnancy. The births in the 50 jurisdictions that participate in PRAMS surveillance are 81% of all live births in the United States.
Quarterly Provisional Estimates for Selected Birth Indicators
Presents estimates for: general fertility rates, age-specific birth rates, total and low-risk cesarean delivery and vaginal birth after cesarean rates, preterm and other gestational age birth rates, low birthweight, neonatal intensive care unit admission and Medicaid as a source of payment for the delivery.
