Forensic Sciences: Arson, Fire and Explosives

The Ignitable Liquids Reference Collection is a compilation of reference materials used by forensic analysts to conduct fire debris analysis. The ILRC consists of a comprehensive set of ignitable liquids and accompanying characterization data used in the analysis of fire debris samples in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E-1618 standard test methods.

I.A.A.I. consists of approximately 9,000 of the best fire investigation professionals in the world, united by a strong commitment to the suppression of the crime of arson...It should be noted that I.A.A.I. works in cooperation with other associations and law enforcement agencies to prevent and suppress the crime of arson, including the US Fire Administration, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, The National Fire Academy, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Insurance Committee for Arson Control and many others.

The IABTI is an independent, non-profit, professional association formed for countering the criminal use of explosives. This is sought through the exchange of training, expertise and information among personnel employed in the fields of law enforcement, fire and emergency services, the military, forensic science and other related fields.
