The American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work (ABE) is a national certification board, created by and for the profession of clinical social work. ABE’s main purposes are to issue advanced credentials to clinical social workers based on uniform national standards of practice, and to educate the public and various audiences about the value of these certifications and the services of those who hold them.

The American Case Management Association (ACMA) is the first and only non-profit membership organization for Hospital/Health System Case Management professionals. ACMA was developed for and by Hospital/Health System Case Management professionals ensuring that member needs are foremost in our mission and endeavors.

The American Public Human Services Association, founded in 1930, is a nonprofit, bipartisan organization of state and local human service agencies and individuals who work in or are interested in public human service programs. Our mission is to develop and promote policies and practices that improve the health and well-being of families, children, and adults. We educate Congress, the media, and the general public on social policies and practices and help state and local public human service agencies achieve their desired outcomes in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, child care, child support, Medicaid, food stamps, child welfare, and other program areas and issues that affect families, the elderly, and people who are economically disadvantaged.

The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) is the association of boards that regulate social work. ASWB develops and maintains the social work licensing examinations used across the country and in several Canadian provinces, and is a central resource for information on the legal regulation of social work. Through the association, social work boards can share information and work together. ASWB is also available to help individual social workers and social work students with questions they may have about licensing and the social work examinations.

The Australian Association of Social Workers is the professional representative body of Social Workers in Australia, with 6,000 members nation-wide.

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is a nonprofit national association representing more than 3,000 individual members, as well as graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education. Founded in 1952, this partnership of educational and professional institutions, social welfare agencies, and private citizens is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the sole accrediting agency for social work education in this country.

The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) is a global organisation striving for social justice, human rights and social development through the development of social work, best practices and international cooperation between social workers and their professional organizations.

Founded in 1971, the Irish Association of Social Workers provides a national leadership role in advancing and strengthening the social work professional in the Republic of Ireland.

The LSWO has a mission focused on the Recruitment and Retention of Latinos in Higher Education, Advocating for Cultural Competency within human service agencies, and as a provider of high quality continuing education programs.

Based in St. Louis, the Missouri Society for Clinical Social Work is an organization of Social Work professionals who work in the mental health field. We are united with the purpose of advancing, protecting and promoting excellence in the Clinical Social Work profession at the state and local level.

The National Association of Deans and Directors of Schools of Social Work (NADD) is a volunteer membership organization working to promote excellence in social work education. NADD achieves this by enhancing the leadership of social work education programs. Our membership is comprised of Deans and Directors of graduate social work programs that are accredited or advanced to candidacy. NADD supports Deans and Directors in their professional development and effectiveness as academic administrators.

NAPRHSW is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 by a group of Puerto Rican Social Workers dedicated to the enhancement and general welfare of Puerto Rican and other Hispanic families.

Works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.

The National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. and Affiliates (NBCC), an independent not-for-profit credentialing body for counselors, was incorporated in 1982 to establish and monitor a national certification system, to identify those counselors who have voluntarily sought and obtained certification, and to maintain a register of those counselors. Included are sections on ethics, advocacy, graduate students and faculty, continuing education, state licensure, and certifications.

The National Network for Social Work Managers is the only professional association in the United States dedicated solely to improving the quality of organizations by equipping managers to become effective “people-centered” leaders. Our mission is to make available the knowledge and experience of its members to one another in order to maximize their effectiveness.

The National Organization of Forensic Social Work was established to provide for the advancement of education in the field of forensic social work through: training programs, forums, panels and lectures; annual conferences; newsletter publication; networking opportunities; and political action, thereby enhancing the professional activities of forensic practitioners, administrators, and policy makers.

NAACSW’s mission is to equip its members to integrate Christian faith and professional social work practice.

OASW's purpose is to address the interests and concerns of social workers. Bound by the profession's code of ethics, a major role is to comment on public policies that affect clients whom social workers serve. Human rights and the needs of under-served or at-risk populations are priorities. In addition, OASW focuses attention on increasing public awareness on the important role played by the profession related to service delivery. Furthermore, we speak on behalf of the profession regarding a wide array of professional practice and employment issues such as government or organizational policies that potentially infringe on our scope of practice.

The Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work (PSCSW) was established in 1971 to promote and advance specialization of clinical practice within the social work profession. It is an organization of clinical social workers who practice in a variety of settings including family agencies, mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, medical facilities, geriatric settings, schools, and private practice throughout Pennsylvania.
